PraxisDialog 19: Innovative Enhancements in Sheetfed Offset

Perfect interplay of material and print technology

Specialists in the practice of print production reported on the multifarious possibilities of using print enhancement at the 19th PraxisDialog on November 13 in Offenbach, Germany.

How can I, as a printer, differentiate myself from competitors? How can I, as a brand advertiser, fire up my customers? With enhanced print products in any case. Coating versatility, paper variety and technologies like cold-foil application with the ROLAND InlineFoiler Prindor allow creativity virtually unlimited in scope.

Manufacturers and users report
Always, what counts is the perfect interplay of material and print technology. How papers meet the criteria of innovative enhancement techniques, what kinds of coating are best suited for packaging, labels or commercial printing, and what new possibilities for design are opened up by cold-foil and hot-foil enhancement were the subjects discussed by the experts from papermaker sappi Deutschland, coating producer Weilburger Graphics and foil producer Leonard Kurz. What applications the enhancement techniques are best suited for and the requirements to be heeded in prepress and printing in order to achieve optimum results, was explained to the more than 100 participants by the F-Media Druck printing company.

Printing demonstrations in the manroland Print Technology Center were the high spot of the event. Here, cold-foil transfer in a UV process using the ROLAND InlineFoiler Prindor was one of the features shown, complemented by a demonstration of a coating process in which three coating effects were produced in one pass with only one coating module.
