Great Successes Worldwide In Sheetfed

In the first half of 2006 MAN Roland successfully sells sheetfed presses in all formats

A high level of sales worldwide over all formats explains the good results that MAN Roland in Offenbach is currently enjoying with its sheetfed presses. Besides the acknowledged outstanding print quality, the sheetfed experts are benefiting from early recognition of market trends and customer needs. The philosophy of "Value Added Printing" which focuses on more efficient production, inline enhancement and a greater range of services is really paying off.

In the small-format segment two convincing factors are substrate versatility and productivity, with the ROLAND 500 now also available as a perfecting press. Medium-format press customers appreciate the inline enhancement possibilities and the QuickChange options for reducing makeready time. And the attractiveness of large-format presses and MAN Roland's traditional strength in this segment is very plain to see. In many countries the first format XXL ROLAND 900 presses have been sold.

Uruguay: first ROLAND 500

The world's first eight-colour ROLAND 500 with a coating module and extended delivery has been sold to Casabo in Uruguay. With this investment Casabo is responding to legislative changes in the market for cigarette packaging – "deterrent" four-colour pictures now have to be printed on the packets. This customer also has two four-colour ROLAND 700 presses with a coating module and extended delivery.

China: first format 8

The first format 8 ROLAND 900, XXL for China was ordered in March. This four-colour press is to print board and foil and is also the first press to be equipped to work with alternating UV/IR in the delivery. This is the first MAN Roland press for Suzhou Dongyi Package Printing Co. Ltd. What convinced them were the service concept, pre-sales consultancy and comprehensive customer care.

Japan: ROLAND 700 replaces a competitor press

During IPEX the Suzuki Shiko printing company in Nagoya bought its first six-colour ROLAND 700 with a coating module and extended delivery. The new ROLAND press is to be used for UV and conventional printing. The great flexibility of the ROLAND 700 was the decisive factor: it can print board, foil and also G-flute corrugated board, and the interdeck dryers can be positioned anywhere in the press.

Ireland: ROLAND 500 takes off

Ireland may be a small market but MAN Roland has already sold well there this year. After the first ROLAND 500 was installed as a reference press at Walshe late in 2005, the good performance of this press led to further sales. At the start of this year a ROLAND 500 with five colours, a coating module and extended delivery was sold to Glennon. And at IPEX a four-colour ROLAND 500 with a coating module and extended delivery was sold to Brown. Also at IPEX Standard Printers ordered an eight-colour ROLAND 700 with a coating module and extended delivery.

Finland: fully-equipped ROLAND 700

In May M-Real in Finland signed a contract for a seven-colour ROLAND 700 with a coating module and extended delivery with a long list of options including ColorPilot, APL, complete QuickChange equipment, a UV-White-Cure-interdeck dryer for opaque white applications, a UV end-of-press dryer, a 1.2 mm carton package, InlineSorter, non-stop delivery, AUPASYS and TelePresence. MAN Roland was able to respond more flexibly to the customer's wishes and thus got the order.

Spain: first format 8 press

Varoprinter in Madrid ordered a four-colour ROLAND 900, XXL in June. This will be the first format 8 press in Spain and is to print illustrated books, maps and facsimiles among other things. MAN Roland got the order thanks to the optimal 64-page production.
