ROLAND 700: Added Value for Packaging

MAN Roland presents the ROLAND 700 at IPEX as a multi-functional packaging printing system

Value Added Printing has great significance in folding box production: for enhancement, for brand protection, or for additional product identification. The six-color ROLAND 700 with coating module at IPEX is equipped with various inline applications to meet the requirements of this market segment.

As of IPEX the ROLAND 700 straight printing versions are available in the new 3B oversize format of up to 780 x 1040 mm. This is interesting above all for packaging and label printers because depending on the size of multiple-up images it can increase productivity by up to 50 percent.

The ROLAND 700 IPEX press is to be installed on a 550 mm plinth and has six printing units, a coating module with an extended delivery, and maximum sheet size is the standard 740 x 1040 mm. It is equipped for processing UV inks and coatings. The latest version of the integrated InlineFoiler for cold transfer of metallic foils will be shown. Up to five different rolls of foil can be loaded at the same time which minimises makeready time and also saves material because narrower rolls can be used. First the foil is applied to the sheets which are then printed in four colors and finally coated – all inline in one pass through the press.

Other important features of the IPEX press are

  • The InlineInspector for automatic quality control
  • The InlineSorter for diverting waste sheets
  • QuickChange in the full version for automated job changeover with fewer waste sheets
  • ColorPilot for color measurement and control
  • AUPASYS modules for automated pile changing
